The Green Nook publishes independent, tested advice on home, garden, DIY, and organization. This policy describes how our articles are created, reviewed, and updated, and how we handle advertising and affiliate relationships.

Independence

Our editorial coverage is independent of our advertising and affiliate partners. Advertisers do not review, approve, or influence our articles. We do not accept payment or gifts in exchange for coverage of products or services.

How we choose topics

We write about the projects, plants, and systems we would recommend to a friend. Ideas come from questions readers send us, our own homes, and gaps we see in existing coverage. We prioritize topics that have long-term value over trend pieces.

Testing and research

Every how-to guide on The Green Nook is written by someone who has completed the project. Product recommendations come from items we have personally used for at least one full season or one full use cycle. Where research or expert input is needed, we cite reputable sources and, where possible, consult subject-matter experts.

Fact-checking and accuracy

Before publishing, each article is reviewed by a second editor for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. When we cite specific numbers, dosages, temperatures, or measurements, we verify them against primary sources or manufacturer documentation.

Corrections

Updates

We revisit our most-read articles regularly to keep information current — refreshing product recommendations, prices, and seasonal tips as needed. The publication date on each article reflects when it was last meaningfully updated.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure
